REGARDING last week’s front page story ‘So what is next for Withybush?’ and your comment ‘What may happen will affect us all’ I highlighted the situation at the hospital in the Senedd at the first possible opportunity.
Looking at what is happening with the use of GPs in the A&E department in the hospital, it is something that will be of concern to local people.
I hope we can have a national look at this, as it is something that has also happened in Prince Philip Hospital, which led to a different kind of approach, which was not a full acute A&E service.
Whether that is good or bad, it needs to be explained to the people of Pembrokeshire if that is what is going to happen.
Plaid Cymru stands for saving and strengthening our NHS by recruiting 1,000 extra doctors, more nurses and more ambulances.
When we get parity of funding with Scotland we will put more money into cutting waiting times for life saving tests, protecting critical local hospital services and ambulances, and crucially into funding 1,000 extra doctors so that we have a health service which can respond when people need it.
