I AM writing to the newspaper, to highlight, the disbanding of the assertive out-reach team.

It is a very good, supportive type of help, for those in the community.

It reduces the need for hospital admissions. I would find life, to be a great upheaval without it.

This is fundamentally a very good structure of helping those with disabilities in the community.

A list of good things that they do: Transport and appointments; taking and delivery of groceries; help with benefits; support and talking therapies; fewer admissions into hospitals; travelling too charities which tackle isolation and loneliness; out of hours support; communication by phone; delivery of prescribed medicines; help with visits into town, which takes away vulnerability and feelings of anxiety.

This support is at home and the community. This alienates the upheaval of hospital admissions, medicines and also benefits, due to admissions.

I commend the AOT and the service that is given, I don’t think this should be about funding, but rather the quality of service. Please do not take this service away.
