RE: The article on Kevin Goldsworthy (Ice cream man who traded without a licence ‘has seen his business melt away’, Western Telegraph, February 5).
We welcome the news that Kevin Goldsworthy has been prosecuted after a number of years illegal trading at Freshwater.
The licence mentioned was a ‘winter licence’ - a hundred pound fine is an insult comparable to the damage caused us. To say that his ice cream trade has not affected The Pembrokeshire Beach Food Company is completely ludicrous, he has almost put us out of business.
We pay the National Trust to trade hot food and ice cream, within the law.
Paying nothing has effectively stolen half of our potential revenue for two seasons.
We are working extremely hard to support local, Pembrokeshire suppliers and generate employment.
The whole ordeal has been hugely frustrating, it’s like someone following you to work, sitting at your desk with you and taking half your wage every day.
