WE read with interest the “masterplan” as a catalyst to regenerate the town centre.

You mention a 21st century library, gallery, cafe and visitor centre.

It is “anticipated” that the scheme could attract over 200,000 visitors per year.

And that is approximately 700 per day.

Has anyone actually done their research or is this just another fantasy project wasting our taxpayers’ money which would be better spent on health and education?

And what will be the actual cost and source of funding?

Long ago I visited libraries as my only base for research on numerous subjects.

And many of us also borrowed books due to the high cost of purchase.

Today I can research anything within minutes on the internet, with zero cost, and buy almost any published book for my Kindle from Amazon at between one and five pounds each.

My wife just bought a full Jane Austen set for 77p.

To bring life to Haverfordwest town centre we need ample cheap parking for the public (not council staff) and to attract prime retailers such as TK Maxx, Zara, Primark, and of course M&S and Boots who have sadly gone to a retail park.
