A FEW weeks ago I wrote to the Western Telegraph with a request in tracing any George family in the Haverfordwest and Solva area related to James George who came from Sennen, Cornwall in 1900, as a fisherman and married Emma Lucas in Solva.
I would like to thank you, as the response has been truly immense.
A whole new branch to the family tree has been added with literally over 100 relatives from Neyland, St.Davids, Haverfordwest, Roch and even Fife in Scotland.
My dear mother who died last year just two months short of her 100th birthday would have been thrilled with this information.
I would also like to thank the kind people of Pembrokeshire, every one we asked whilst on holiday took time and many mobile calls to help us in this quest.
The George family goes back at present to the late 1790’s in Sennen, all were fishermen.
I am so surprised after holidaying in Solva/Broadhaven for over 20 years to have at long last found so many relatives.
We hope on next years visit to have a reunion, possibly in Solva where the Welsh family came from and will let you know.
