Firstly, I would like to congratulate the organising committee of the annual Fishguard Folk Music Festival that took place last weekend.
The hard work and dedication that went into organising the event was very evident judging by most of the comments of those who attended. However, I along with others, have an issue with the events programme that was distributed at the venues, why was it only printed in English? Surely it’s not the excuse of cost again? I had hoped this old colonial insulting habit of disregarding the Welsh speaking population, by ignoring their language, had long passed into history.
I do hope this unfortunate slur is rectified for next year’s festival and wish the organising committee of the Fishguard Folk Festival every success for the future.
