WE support an early decision to start the dualling of the A40 into Pembrokeshire, as this will have the same effect on the economy in Pembrokeshire as did the arrival of the railway to Haverfordwest in 1853.

As well as improving safety of traffic on the main route in and out of Pembrokeshire.

The arrival of a dual carriageway will encourage investment and secure better paid jobs, retaining young people as well as reducing the cost of transport of goods in and out of the county.

There will also be an effect to lengthen the season of tourism, increasing the spend in commerce, hotels and catering.
