Only 11 County Councillors accepted an invitation from the joint governing bodies of Tasker Milward and Sir Thomas Picton secondary Schools to discuss the future education of 6th formers in Mid and North Pembrokeshire.

We need to know why the other 44 County Councillors did not think it important to concern themselves with the education of the children of Pembrokeshire.

We need to know why the Education Department is so keen to support the College to the detriment of our secondary schools.

We need to know more about the ‘TRIBAL’ Report on the Future of Secondary Education in the County.

We need to know who will be responsible for the proposed 6th Form Centre, its staffing and teachers’ contracts.

We need to know more about the expertise of those employed in the Education Department.

We need to know how involved the relevant Overview and Scrutiny Committee of the County Council has been.

We need to know how many parents have asked for a three to sixteen Welsh Medium School in Haverfordwest.

Will someone enlighten the people of Pembrokeshire before it is too late.

It was Edward Young who warned: procrastination is the thief of time’ and ‘be wise today’; ‘tis madness to defer’.
