WHY all this fuss regarding a sixth form college in Haverfordwest as these colleges have been in existence for many years in other authorities and is there any evidence that their performance is below that of schools?
I applaud Pembrokeshire for their vision in proposing this change which is probably long overdue.
As to pupils demanding choice, do they not realise that we are living in David Cameron’s Britain and that choice is a luxury that cannot be afforded when local government is faced with swingeing cuts year on year.
Comments on giving yourself responsibility when growing up is equally true when studying at college so this is hardly a valid reason for keeping the sixth form in school.
