LAST week I spent 24 hours in Ward 8 Withybush hospital.
The care I received was superb and anything I needed was attended to immediately.
Primarily though I was almost reduced to tears by the care given to an elderly lady in the next bed, possibly suffering from dementia. The nurses coped with difficult behaviour so patiently, and one would think the nurses were the children of that lady, they were so tender and so loving and so reassuring to her.
Cuddles were more important than medicine. The love they gave to that patient was so tangible – as well as the team work that allowed those nurses to have such time with so much empathy to comfort that lady who just wanted to go home, as we all did.
Thank you nurses of Ward 8, my stay with you was made so much easier with your care.
