AN urgent appeal has gone out for food donations after a Milford-based hardship charity saw huge numbers of people come forward for help.
Eighty-two food parcels were distributed by PATCH (Pembrokeshire Action to Combat Hardship) in Pembrokeshire last week and over 400 children in the county have been referred to this year’s Christmas Toy Appeal so far.
PATCH co-ordinator Tracy Olin said a further 50 food parcels were distributed the previous week and with the large numbers of food parcels required, the charity is in need of food donations.
With just days until all the donations for this year’s toy appeal are sorted and packed by volunteers, the charity also require large sealable cardboard boxes for the toy deliveries.
Tracy said: “We are really grateful for all the support the people in Pembrokeshire have given us – we couldn’t do this without them or my lovely volunteers.”
The charity will be featured in this Sunday’s Songs of Praise show on BBC One Wales at 4.15pm.

org.uk PATCH will be closed for Christmas from 2pm on Thursday, December 20, until Tuesday, January 8.
