More than 100 jobs under threat at Pembroke Dock factory

More than 100 jobs are under threat at a window manufacturing company in Pembroke Dock.

The UK Window Group is proposing to close the Cambrian Windows facility on Isaac Way, with 120 jobs at risk.

In a statement today, bosses said the company will continue to operate as normal while staff go through a 90 day consultation.

A statement by UK Window Group stated: "We would like to stress that at the moment this is a proposal and that no final decision has been made.

"Up to this time, we believe that we have taken all steps possible in order to avoid this situation. However, trading conditions have continued to be significantly tougher than anticipated."

Pembrokeshire Council should be building a thousand more social houses, mostly two and one bed, enabling tenants who wish, to downsize, thus leaving 3 and four bed houses for the larger families. This will bring much needed jobs to Pembrokeshire, and get rid of the waiting list for social housing. With the added bonus of driving down the cost of Private Rentals.
