LOCAL people of all ages are set to benefit from Milford Haven Town Council’s last round of charity donations for this financial year.
A total of £1,700 in donations was agreed at a meeting of full council on January 27.
Benefitting from a cash boost of £350 each will be Milford Haven Amateur Operatic Society,
St Katherine and St Peter’s Church hall, Milford Haven Christian Fellowship, and the
Pembrokeshire branch of Christians Against Poverty (CAP).
Milford Haven Junior Golf, 1st Neyland Brownie Unit and the recently-formed 3rd Milford Haven Rainbows groups will also receive £100 each.
In the last year, the council has donated more than £3,000 to local charities, groups, sports teams and events, including Hubberston AFC, Milford Youth Matters, and Milford Haven music Festival.
At a meeting of full council on January 20, it was agreed that the council’s budget for the coming year be increased to £4,500.
The grants are available to local organisations based in Milford Haven, or whose services provide opportunities or support for the people of the town.
