NATURE lovers will have a rare opportunity to discover some of Dale's most beautiful gardens this weekend, as a dozen private gardens are opened to the public.

Many of the gardens have stunning views over the beach and sea, and despite the trials and tribulations of seaside gardening, including salty winds, and the battles with rabbits, pigeons, slugs and snails, the gardeners have achieved some delightful and surprising results.

As well as a chance to 'plant-spot', artists, glass bead makers, a potter and a wood carver will also to meet in the gardens.

Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority will also be outside the village hall helping visitors make 'bug boxes' in its gazebo, and the Dale Heritage Centre's latest exhibition will be open for free too.

Tickets will be available in any of the gardens, for £6 per person, including a 50p voucher towards a cream tea. Children under 12 go free. Guide dogs only. There will be plants for sale in some of the gardens.

The money raised from the open garden event on Saturday, June 21, and Sunday, June 22, from 2pm to 6pm, will be used for community wildlife projects, including bee and pollination projects.
