EXCITING plans for the development of Neyland Community and Sports Centre are in the pipeline and residents are being encouraged to have their say.

Plans for the improvement of the well-used community building have been developing for some time and following the construction of the new changing and gym facility attention is now turning to phase two – the development of a new community and sports centre.

The new centre would replace the current ageing Athletic Club.

Neyland Athletic Club and Neyland Town Council are asking locals to complete a short questionnaire about their current use of the club and how they may like to see it developed into a new community and sports facility.

“We hope to get opinions from those who are running clubs and societies in the current building and also members of the local community who do not use the current facilities.

“Neyland Athletic Club has served its purpose for the past 50 years, but now a replacement is needed to better represent the modern needs of Neyland Community.

“To ensure the new building reflects the wants/needs of the local community, we would like as many people as possible who live in the following areas to complete the survey:

Neyland, Rosemarket, Freystrop, Burton, Llangwm, Sardis, Houghton, Rosemarket, Llanstadwell, Johnston, Waterston, Hook. Mastlebridge,” a spokesman said.
