DYFED-Powys Police is urging residents in Neyland to be vigilant for any suspicious behaviour following three burglaries in the last month.

Three properties have been targeted during the evenings and police are investigating.

“Whilst this isn’t a large number it is very unusual for the Neyland area and our inquiries are ongoing to find those responsible” said PC Amy Talboys.

“We are asking the local residents for their help in doing this. If you can be vigilant in your area, and report to us anything which you think is suspicious. It may be a person seen loitering somewhere, or a strange vehicle driving around your area.

“You know your neighbourhoods and know when something is not right, so please get in touch.

“There are some steps that residents can do to help protect their property,” she added

These include: Make sure your house or flat is secure. Always secure outside doors. If you have to use a key, keep it nearby – you may need to get out quickly in the event of fire.

If other people such as previous tenants could still have keys that fit, change the locks. Don’t give keys to workmen or tradesmen, as they can easily make copies.

Draw your curtains after dark and if you think there is a prowler outside – dial 999.

If you see signs of a break-in at your home, like a smashed window or open door, don’t go in. The burglar may be inside. Go to a neighbour and call the police.

If you witnessed anything suspicious or have any information please contact Milford haven Police by calling 101.
