THIS week, Hubberston School ‘junior reporters’ Kaitlyn and Jessica share what pupils have been up to.

“We will start with Class One, who read the story of Elmer the Elephant and used it to do their maths. They sorted materials by their colour and made elephant collages.

“Next it’s Class Two, who have been learning about underwater animals. They created some stunning rainbow fish using some different types of materials. They also added some jellyfish and starfish to the display for extra effect.

“Class Three have also been learning how it is good to be different by making Elmer the Elephant out of milk bottles and sewing their own Elmers!

“Pupils from Class Four have made a wall display using their own faces! They took a black and white picture, cut it in half and then they drew the other side of their face. They used lots of shading in the pictures to look as real as possible.

“The Romans, how they lived and what qualities were needed to be a Roman soldier was the subject of the week for Class Five. They made coats of arms and named their table groups after them.

“For Class Six it was a trip to Tinseltown. They made Hollywood stars by scrunching up newspaper and dipping it in paint to make the pavement and the star. They added glitter to make a sparkling marble effect and stuck the stars on the pavement. They then added their own names and greatest achievements.

“Come back next week for more of our cool news.”
