ONCE again, sixth formers from Milford Haven School will be putting their best paws forward to raise money for Children in Need.

The students' programme of fundraising events gets off to a chilly start on Friday, November 7, at the annual Big Dip sponsored event at Broad Haven beach.

Pupils will be running into the sea at 4.15pm, in a bid to raise as much cash as possible for the charity,

On Sunday, November 9, a Bake Sale will be held at the Youth Centre next to the Meads Leisure Centre, from 11am until 1pm.

Everyone is welcome, and any donations of cakes, coffee and tea would be much appreciated. Entry is £3 on the door.

And throughout the next week, pupils will be putting on shows and parties for younger students during lunch times, culminating in its annual Stars in their Eyes competition.

The school, which is well-known locally for its fantastic fundraising skills, is hoping to beat last year's total of £8,600.

Sixth former Laura Absalom said the annual effort was 'part of the school's tradition;.

"We couldn't imagine not doing it," she said.

"We're so privileged ourselves, it's nice to nice something back," added Paige Jenkins.

Head boy Harry Turner added: "Our whole school life is building up to this, we want to do a great job."

Local people and businesses can also help the appeal by donating money or raffle items, or allowing sixth formers onto their premises to make a collection.
