UNION calls off strike action next week following a revised pay offer for NHS workers.

Unison has announced that members will consider a new pay off made by the Welsh Government.

The strike action – planned for Monday, November 10, 8.30am to noon, was due to affect patients with appointments across Hywel Dda University Health Board.

There were also plans for action short of strike action between Tuesday, November 12 and Friday, November 14.

A spokesman for the health board said: “We would like to remind patients who may have clinic appointments next week that, unless they have been contacted directly by the University Health Board, their appointments will remain unchanged.”

Dawn Bowden, UNISON Cymru/Wales Head of Health, said: “These new proposals are a significant improvement for our members and the result of weeks of tough negotiations with the Welsh Government. It is right that our NHS members now have a say and we will consult our members on the new proposals.”
