SEIZING drugs, clamping down on anti-social and abusive behaviour, and helping create works of art – it’s all in a day’s work for Pembrokeshire’s PCSOs.

Milford Haven’s Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) recently worked with local partners such as Pembrokeshire County Council, Tesco and Milford Haven Youth Centre as part of a county-wide ‘day of action’.

Led by Sergeant Dan Bower, officers seized cannabis and legal highs for examination, and issued a warning to a tenant for anti-social behaviour and drug use.

Working with the county council’s housing department, PCSO Stacy Thomas heard concerns over parking and neighbour disputes, theft and disorder, and assisted in an eviction.

Information about home security and crime prevention was on offer at Tesco, where PCSO Danny Nash was also on hand to let people know about the monthly Public and Communities Together (PACT) meetings, and encourage people to raise any issues they have.

PCSO Bethan Devonald helped youngsters at Milford Haven Youth Centre with their latest photography project, ahead of their upcoming exhibition at the Torch Theatre.

In Neyland, PCSO Leanne Nicholls attended worked with marina staff to DNA mark boats, in order to better safeguard vessels moored in the area.

And PCSOs Laura Galdo and Paul Mayhew visited Broad Haven beach to engage with youngsters following recent patrols and seizures of alcohol by the NPT.

They spoke with youngsters and parents and took part in team games including rounders and football. Refreshments were supplied by Tesco, Milford Haven.

The next police surgery will be at Milford Haven Police Station on Friday, August 28, between 5pm and 7pm, and a new surgery has recently been started at Hubberston Resource Centre every Wednesday, between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.

PACT meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at Cedar Court, Milford Haven, at 7pm, and at the Johnston Institute, at 7pm, on the second Thursday of each month.

The NPT will also be at a fun day at Hubberston Community Play Park this Sunday (August 30) from 12.30pm.
