MUSICAL talent from across the county will come together next month, to celebrate 30 years of the HOPE Centre in Neyland.

St David’s Cathedral will provide the backdrop for a glittering gala event, marking the incredible contributions of this vital local charity, with performances from some of Pembrokeshire’s premier performers.

Taking to the stage will be current UK National Brass Band Champions Goodwick Brass Band, Pembroke and District male voice choir, Whitland and district male voice choir, baritone Aaron Pryce-Lewis, and the Bella Voce choir.

The HOPE Centre in Neyland offers treatments and support to people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Parkinson's, and those who have suffered a stroke.

With annual running costs of around £107,000, it relies heavily on donations and the efforts of its fundraising committee.

Goodwick Brass Band has enjoyed tremendous success in recent years, with talented young conductor Matthew Jenkins being named Welsh Conductor of the Year for his commitment to developing new young brass talent.

A ‘love of music and song’ is clear when Pembroke’s male voice choir performs, perhaps explaining the choir’s successful 61-year history.

They will be led by conductor Christine Lloyd, with accompanists Jenny Griffiths and Carole Rees.

With a busy schedule for 2016, Whitland’s male voice choir is one of the oldest in Wales, and its future looks bright too, having recently attracted several new young members.

Conducting the choir will be Juliet Rossitor, with Hefina Jones as accompanist.

Aaron, who went to Sir Thomas Picton School in Haverfordwest, studies classical voice in London, and has performed in a range of musicals, as baritone in Brahms' Requiem and at the Royal Albert Hall.

Aaron also recently performed on behalf of the HOPE Centre in another concert at the Torch Theatre.

A ‘dynamic and exciting’ 15-piece choir, Bella Voce is guided and inspired by Sarah Benbow, putting its unique stamp on a range of genres from jazz to pop to classical, and ably supported by accompanist Seimon Morris.

Tickets are between £10 and £15, with under-11s free, and starts at 7.30pm, on Friday, June 17.

They are available from St Davids Bookshop, the West Wales Arts Centre, Castle Photography, Malthouse Antiques, Adept Cleaners and the HOPE Centre on 01646 600384, as well as on the door.

The concert is sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Pembrokeshire, Marina Telecom and Valero.
