DO YOU fancy a taste of life on the open seas?

The tall ship TS Pelican will be returning to Milford Haven this month, as part of Seafair Haven Festival.

Based in Weymouth, the TS Pelican was last in port for 2014's Seafair Haven event, and was quite a sight to behold, and the ship’s crew are eager to return again this year.

Becky Simmons, marketing manager at Adventure Under Sail – the charity which operates the ship – said: “Our crew have fond memories of their time at the sea festival and we can hardly believe that it’s been two years since we were last in Milford Haven.

“We love the atmosphere and rich maritime history which the port is known for.”

The TS Pelican was originally built as an Arctic fishing trawler but since her conversion to a tall ship was completed in 2007 she has sailed in UK waters and further afield each year offering sailing experiences to people with little or no previous sailing experience.

The tall ship is available for day sails and short voyages during her stay in Milford Haven with locals and tourists alike invited to spend a day aboard a traditional sailing vessel to enjoy the Pembrokeshire coast from the sea.

Becky continues: “Sailing on board a tall ship is an experience to treasure for a lifetime.

“If this is something you or a loved one has always wanted to do, or maybe on your bucket list, then I urge you to do so.”

TS Pelican is offering a ‘lazy afternoon’ on the water followed by a three-course sunset dinner in Milford Haven on June 11, or a day sail and lunch on board on June 12.
