BUDGET retailer B&M has announced that it will be opening a brand new store, creating more than 80 jobs, in Pembroke Dock later this summer.

The store, based at the former B&Q store on London Road when it open its doors for the first time on August 20 at 9am.

In March 2015, Kingfisher, the company that owns B&Q, revealed it was to undergo a major restructuring.

As a result, it would be closing 60 stores across the UK in the next two years, it said.

Back in October 2015 it was announced the Pembroke Dock B&Q store in London Road would be one of those facing closure.

New store B&M is one of the UK’s fastest growing retailers and customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded products including toys, food and drink, pet products, health and beauty and electricals in their new store.

The store will also boast an extensive DIY, decorating and furniture range, as well as a garden centre.

New B&M store manager, Simon Rosser, said: “We’re feeling really positive about the creation of new jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.

“We are all really excited to get the doors open and welcome our new customers through the door in August.”
