FREE cookery classes will again be offered to local youngsters, thanks to a partnership between Healthaspire and Milford Fish Docks.

Seventy-two children will learn to make fragrant fish cakes and tasty Welsh cakes, as well as finding out the journey each fish takes from sea to plate.

They will also look at some of the everyday simple swaps you can make to become healthier.

Healthaspire owner and nutritionist Ellen Picton said: “I am delighted to be launching this cookery school again, we had great feedback from the project last year, it encouraged lots of children and families to start cooking from scratch and introduce fish into the weekly diet, we also saw kids trying fish for the first time and loving it!

"My aim is to show how easy healthy eating and cooking can be and give them skills they can use for life.

"The school has long been a dream for me and I’m so grateful for the support from Milford Fish Docks in making this a reality.”

Lucy James, Marketing Manager at the Port of Milford Haven, says "Milford Fish Docks has played such an important part of Milford's heritage and we're pleased to sponsor Healthaspire's Summer Cookery School for the second year.

"We think it's important that the town's children know where fish comes from and how to prepare healthy dishes from their ingredients."

There will be 12 places each week, open to children aged between seven and 11 years.

The lessons are 2-and-a-half hours long, and will include lunch of fishcakes and vegetables, plus goodies to take home.

Lunch will be the fish cakes and vegetables and there will be goodies to take home.
