THE 5th of November will always be a night to remember for one Milford Haven couple.

Amid a night of fireworks, fun and live music, at the town's Marina on Saturday night, there was also a surprise wedding proposal.

Mark Johnson got down on one knee on stage, and popped the question to now-fiance Victoria Pearce.

"I am still in shock that I managed to pluck up the courage to propose to my lovely partner in crime Vicky," said Mark, who is chairman of Milford Haven Round Table, which organises the annual event.

"Bonfire night will now always hold a special place in our hearts, and I’m pleased to say that she was taken completely by surprise.

"That the final song during the display was 'Thunderstruck' is a fact that was not lost on us!"

The event saw thousands of families fill the marina, where X Factor finalist Jay James Picton took to the Radio Pembrokeshire stage, alongside local artists such as Lucy Jones, before enjoying a colourful fireworks display.

The free entry event was organised by volunteers from the Round Table, and the Port of Milford Haven.

Neil Jenkins, Destination Director at the Port of Milford Haven, said: "The fireworks display at Milford Marina on the weekend, in conjunction with the Round Table, was a great success enjoyed by thousands of visitors.

"Milford Waterfront is fast becoming renowned for staging large and small scale events like this and there is scope for even more, whether that be on land or on the water."
