FATHER Christmas dusted off his sleigh for a visit to Milford Haven this evening.

Festive activities were on offer in the town all day (Saturday), in the build-up to the annual switching on of the Christmas lights.

A lantern parade, led by Milford Haven town band, lit up the streets, as families marched towards the town hall, where Neyland Ladies Choir were performing carols.

A huge crowd gathered to see Jim Hughes of Radio Pembrokeshire - ably assisted by Father Harri Williams, junior competition winners Lola Okell and Brooklyn Thomas, and Santa himself - to countdown to the switch-on.

Youngsters then got a chance to chat with Father Christmas in the town hall, thanks to Milford Haven Round Table.

Mayor of Milford Haven said this year's events had been even bigger than ever before, thanks to the council, town regeneration team, Port of Milford Haven, Business Circle, Round Table and county council working together.

The Mercury was there taking pictures of all the fun tonight, so don't forget to pick up your copy of the paper in Thursday to see if our photographer snapped you!
