A MILFORD Haven-based food bank received a pre-Christmas boost.

Pembrokeshire Action To Combat Hardship (PATCH) was handed £250 in food essentials, and another £250 in cash, from Milford Haven Round Table members.

PATCH helps families across the county throughout the year, but its team of volunteers work especially hard at Christmas, making sure all its clients are supported.

The Round Table is made up of local men, aged between 18 and 45, who give up their time to raise money for local causes, and put on events for the community.

Across the UK, Round Table clubs raise more than £3.3 million a year for local charities through various events including bonfire nights, beer festivals and Santa sleigh collections.
