THE MET Office is warning of high winds and heavy rain across the county this afternoon.
A yellow warning has been issued for the whole of Wales and south England as near gale force winds batter the coast and further inland.
“Inland locations are likely to see a relatively short period of 40-50 mph gusts, whilst windward coastal areas will see a longer period of 50 to 60 mph gusts with isolated gusts to 70 mph,” said the MET Office.
A narrow band of locally heavy rain is moving east and the yellow warning is set to be in place until late into the night.
Gusty winds could cause disruption to travel.
“This could include localised problems for high-sided vehicles on prone routes and roads affected by spray and standing water,” added the MET Office.
Drivers are warned to take care on local roads.
The RNLI the is advising people to stay away from the water during the storms, give waves a wide berth, and be aware that unexpected big waves can easily catch people out.
