FUNDRAISING for this year’s Neyland Carnival has been boosted, thanks to a donation from Valero Pembroke Refinery.

A popular and well-attended day, the carnival brings together people from across the community in the town and surrounding areas, with proceeds raised on the day going to assist local charities.

With considerable expenses involved in putting on a successful carnival each year, the Neyland Carnival Committee rely on support from local businesses and recently received a donation of £500 from Valero.

Refinery public affairs manager Stephen Thornton said: “Valero is delighted to be able to help the Neyland Carnival Committee’s incredible efforts for this year’s carnival.

"Neyland Carnival is a brilliant event enjoyed by people across Neyland, Llanstadwell, Hazelbeach and the surrounding areas, and we know this year’s event is going to be another great success.”

Neyland Carnival Committee co-chair Simon Hancock said: “We are very grateful to have this support from Valero. Neyland Carnival is an event for the whole community and this donation will help to ensure we can continue to ensure this wonderful event is open to all across Neyland, and helps to support some wonderful charities as well.”
