A THREE-night talent extravaganza, that will also be raising money for charity, has been given a boost from two Milford Haven businesses.

Todaro’s Hair and Beauty and Milford News Best One have donated £100 each towards the Mercury Charity Talent Show 2017, in aid of Paul Sartori.

Their generous donations will help cover costs for the event, meaning more of the money raised can go straight to the hospice at home charity.

The talent show will take place at the Pill Social Centre, Milford Haven, over three nights in October.

Eleven acts will perform in the first heat on Friday, October 13, with a further 12 showing off their skills a week later (October 20).

They will be aiming to impress a varied panel of judges, including dancer Victoria Tansey, Miss Pembrokeshire 2017 Vicky Prior, musician and actor Sam Hardy, rapper Project, Viv Barratt of St Katharine Stratford Players, renowned local entertainer Roger Arnold, singer Lucy Jones, Torch Theatre youth project leaders Chloe Wheeler and Johnny Lock, and the mayor and deputy mayor of Milford Haven.

The top acts will then go on to our grand final on Friday, October 27, to compete for the first prize of £100, a photoshoot, and an appearance on BB Skone’s music radio show.

There will also be a grand raffle, with hundreds of pounds worth of prizes, including lunch at the Cardiff Marriott Hotel and £50 shopping voucher, a Kindle Fire and a £50 Marks and Spencer hamper… plus many, many more.

The aim of the event is to give a stage to some of the county’s most promising performers, while raising as much money as possible for Paul Sartori.

Sandra Dade, of Paul Sartori, said requests for hands-on care had risen by almost a fifth in the last year.

“We just would not be able to deliver this volume of service without the support of the community,” she said.

“We do receive some funding from the health board and the council, but the fundraising efforts of local people are absolutely vital to enable us to continue helping families across Pembrokeshire.”

Among its work, the foundation supplies essential care items to those with life-limiting diseases, such as beds, mattresses, commodes, bedpans and more, to help people maintain their independence, and stay at home, close to their family.

Said Andy Reed of Milford News Best One: “The work Paul Sartori does not only helps those who are ill, but also those who love them.

“Instead of constant visits to hospital, families can spend time together in familiar surroundings, and this means so much to people.”

Added Domenico Todaro: “Dad knew Paul Sartori when he was alive, and the foundation does such good work that we always like to support them and what they do.”

Tickets for each night are £5, and are available from Snapdragon, Charles Street; Victoria Bookshop, Haverfordwest; or by calling 01437 761764.

The show is also being supported by a number of local sponsors and prize donors, including the Port of Milford Haven, Tesco Milford Haven, and TFL Group Neyland.
