A NEYLAND town councillor who is under investigation by the local government ombudsman has quit his role as deputy mayor.
Cllr Brian Rothero has also stepped down from all committees.
A council spokesman said Cllr Rothero was currently focusing on his new business, and said he does not have the time to attend meetings at the moment.
He had been paid £303 in deputy mayor’s allowance, and will be required to refund this pro rata as he has only been in post for five months.
He has said he will remain a councillor for the time being.
