POLICE are appealing for information following a serious assault on Tuesday, October 31.
Detective Chief Inspector Ross Evans, said: “We are investigating a report of a serious assault that occurred at approx. 11:30pm on Tuesday, October 31 in the Croft Avenue/Woodbine Way area.
"The male suspect was disturbed during the attack and ran in the direction of Croft Avenue/Woodbine Way.
“We are appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of the Gelliswick Road shops, Croft Avenue/Woodbine Way, Haven Drive, or St Lawrence Hill (known locally as Captain James Hill) at the time, to speak to us.
“In particular we need to speak to a male described as white, around 5ft 5inches tall, slim build, with blondish hair.
“While this type of crime is rare, one incident is too many and we would like to reassure the community that we are doing all we can to find the person responsible."
The neighbourhood policing team (NPT) are making enquiries in the area.
