A MILFORD Haven mum has donated a memory tree to the town cemetery, so that other families can remember their loved ones.

Special hearts, which can be personalised with photos and messages to those no longer here, can be purchased from the town hall, and hung on the tree.

All proceeds will go towards the cemetery.

Nicola Harteveld, whose 14-year-old daughter Megan Evans died in February, said the money raised would go towards making "positive changes in the cemetery and to the chapel of rest".

"It will be used as a Christmas tree at this time of year, but throughout the year hearts can be bought personalised and hung for birthdays, Easter, and other important occasions," said Nicola.

The donation was made from Nicola's charity the Megan's Starr Foundation, set up in memory of the much-missed teenager.

The hearts can also be purchased from Snapdragon in Charles Street, for £2.50 each.

The first heart to be hung on the tree included a picture of Megan, placed with the words: "Your presence we miss, your memory we treasure, loving you always, forgetting you never."

Hearts can also be purchased from Snapdragon in Milford Haven.
