The wife of a missing Haverfordwest man has said his family was "desperately worried" as police officers becoming increasingly concerned for his safety.

Ben Thompson, aged 34, has not been seen since the Six Nations Wales v Ireland match in Cardiff on Saturday.

His wife Joanne told Wales Online that Ben, a process operator at South Hook LNG, had been drinking before the match and she last spoke to him after the game ended and he was heading to their favourite city centre pub.

He was at Mill Lane with a friend but has not been seen since his friend had to leave him.

He was spotted on CCTV at around 7pm in the Canton area of the city.

Residents there are being asked to check gardens and outbuildings and house-to-house are being conducted.

Chief Inspector Eddie Ough, who is leading the investigation, said: "We are becoming increasingly concerned for Ben's welfare and we are doing all we can to find him safe and well.

"Extensive enquiries are on-going particularly in the Canton and Leckwith areas where we believe Ben has walked to from the city centre on Saturday evening."

Ben is 5ft 9in tall, with short brown hair and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing brown boots, jeans, and, possibly, a blue and white striped top with a green jacket.

Police are asking for anyone with information about Ben’s whereabouts to contact them on 101.
