A man has died following an incident off the north Pembrokeshire coast last night (Wednesday).

Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating after a 63-year-old man died following an incident involving a dinghy off Newport beach.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 7pm.

Fishguard RNLI Lifeboat and Inshore Lifeboat, Cardigan RNLI Atlantic Inshore Lifeboat, Fishguard Coastguard Rescue Team, Preseli Sector Manager, Police and Land Ambulance were tasked to the incident.

Three men who had been aboard the dinghy, ended up in the water.

The man was pulled from the water by coastguard rescuers but could not be saved. 

His next of kin have been told.
