Dyfed-Powys Police say online reports of an attempted child abduction in Pembroke Dock on Sunday are false.

A statement released by Dyfed-Powys Police today (Tuesday) said: "On the evening of Sunday 21st September police were informed of an attempted abduction of an 11 year old boy in Pembroke Dock.

"The incident was reported to have occurred at approximately 7pm that evening on Dimond Street junction with Lewis Street.

"The suspect was described as a Pakistani male driving a white van. Following extensive enquires police can now confirm that this incident did not happen."

However, police are continuing to investigate an incident of attempt assault on a thirteen year old girl which occurred in Bush Street Pembroke Dock at approximately 7.30pm on Tuesday 2nd September and involved a small white van and two Asian males.

As part of the ongoing investigation into the Bush Street incident police are continuing to check local CCTV and to trace anyone who was in the vicinity at the relevant time.

DCI Dave Guiney said: “I would like to reassure the community that every effort is being made to identify the males in the Bush Street incident and would urge anyone with information to contact the police.”
