VODAFONE and the Western Telegraph have teamed up to offer the chance for a deserving Pembrokeshire cause to win a fabulous £1,000.

To celebrate the opening of the new Vodafone store at Riverside Shopping, Haverfordwest, the telecommunications giant has put up £1,000 and a free tech assessment as part of its Community Connection Awards.

The winning cause can be anything from a local football team requiring a new kit, to a band requiring new instruments – and we are asking for your nominations for who deserves the cash.

The criteria, are:

  • The nominees should be a local charity, club or group that makes a significant impact on the local community. It cannot be a personal or individual plight, nor a government-funded organisation such as a school.
  • The award must be for a specific project or purpose rather than to cover operating costs.
  • The award must be stand- alone rather than form any part of a larger contribution or bigger appeal.

How to nominate:

Email wtnews@westerntelegraph.co.uk with ‘Vodafone Community Connection Award Nomination’ as the subject line.

Please state the name of the group/charity/ club you are nominating along with a contact name and telephone number for them.

Explain what the money would be used for and why the cause deserves to be chosen, in no more than 200 words.

Please also include your name, address and a day-time contact number.

Emails and letters should be received by Wednesday, December 10.

The Western Telegraph and local Vodafone staff will then go through the nominations, create a short-list and announce the winner.
