Over 110 Father Christmases sprinted for ho-ho-home on Sunday in Tenby’s annual Santa Run.

The red-coated crew followed a 3km course around the town in the event organised by Tenby Ladies Circle.

The morning’s weather - which deterred a number of potential participants - happily brightened for the run itself, which saw all ages taking part, from babies in buggies to senior citizens.

Runners came from all over Pembrokeshire and beyond, including a family from Liverpool who attend every year.

Over the years, the event has raised thousands of pounds for good causes, as well as helping to spread festive cheer in Tenby as part of the town’s seasonal celebrations.

This year, a substantial sum is set to be raised by the Tenby and District Friends of the Community.

The first Santa to cross the finishing line was top Tenby athlete Oliver Simon, who was rewarded with a voucher from osteopath John Rothery and a bottle of champagne from Tenby Ladies Circle.

The main sponsors of the run were Oakwood, who donated the Santa suits, and Signspeed.

Said co-organiser Kath Morgan: “We are grateful to everyone for their continued support of the Santa Run, which is a lovely community event with lots of fun and fund-raising.”
