A Pembrokeshire hardship charity is opening its new site in Pembroke Dock today, Tuesday, March 3.

Pembrokeshire Action to Combat Hardship’s (PATCH) new basics bank will be based at the Fleet Surgeon’s House in the former Royal Dockyard, and will be open every Tuesday from 10am-2pm.

Back in late 2014, PATCH closed its Monkton food bank after a spate of thefts.

It had opened its basics bank at The Old Priory, Long Mains in September 2010, providing people in financial difficulty with donated food, clothing and household items every Tuesday.

Since then, PATCH has operated the food bank temporarily from the Citizens Advice Bureau building in Pembroke Dock’s Meyrick Street.

PATCH co-ordinator Tracy Olin said: “A huge thank you to the lovely people at the CAB for putting up with us for so long, even though they didn't really have the space. We will miss you.

“Thank you to Foundry House/21C for taking in all of the extra donations and delivering them to HQ in Milford. Donations can now be dropped off at Fleet surgeons, but please remember we are only there Tuesdays.

“Thank you to Quayside Estates for finding us rooms in this beautiful new home.”
