The British Red Cross is encouraging anyone interested in volunteering to come along to an open event in Haverfordwest today (Tuesday).
Visitors can learn about the various services the charity provides, as well as chat to staff and existing volunteers about the volunteering roles available.
William Wiggans, 32 from Llanboidy, is encouraging more people to join the team so the service can expand and reach even more people.
He said: “I wanted to volunteer for the Red Cross as I enjoy the feeling I get from helping others. I learned some first aid skills as an air cadet and wanted to put that learning into practice.
“Volunteering with the Red Cross has given me lots of opportunities to do just that. I have gained lots of new friends, a greater sense of belonging and happiness, more knowledge of first aid, and I’ve had lots of fun.”
The event is at The Picton Centre, Haverfordwest on Tuesday, March 3 between 4pm and 8pm. Call 01239 615 945 or email caraevans@redcross.org.uk for more.
