FISHGUARD and Goodwick lifeboat made a guest appearance at an RNLI fundraising evening on Saturday, August 15.

Blue Peter VII pulled up alongside the quay in Lower Town, having transported the town's mayor, Councillor Richard Grosvenor from Goodwick to see the start of the event.

The music of Goodwick Brass Band created a great atmosphere, and while the sun did not sizzle the barbecue did to help make the event a great success.

All tickets for the grand summer raffle sold out, as well as all 1,000 ducks for the duck race, which took place on the River Gwaun. The winners of the duck race were: 1st David Williams, 2nd Hugo Hosgood and 3rd Pat Goodwin.

The crowds stayed until late in the evening and helped the stalls do great trade, while raising a substantial amount for the RNLI.

Fishguard and Goodwick RNLI chairman of the fundraising committee, Roger Tayler said: “I would like to thank all who helped and everybody who gave us such great support either by buying a duck, buying a raffle ticket, attending on the night or all three. Diolch yn fawr.”
