FIVE paddle-boarders and kayakers were rescued by Little & Broad Haven RNLI lifeboat crew members on Tuesday afternoon, August 25, after they got into difficulties at Broad Haven beach.

The volunteer crew at Little & Broad Haven launched at 1.39pm following the report.

Milford Haven Coastguard had tasked the lifeboat crew after concerns from the RNLI lifeguards on beach duty of a group of people on paddle boards drifting away from the beach.

The crew were quickly on scene and spotted five people on paddle boards and a double kayak all struggling to make their way back to the beach due to the poor sea conditions.

The helm decided the safest way was to tow the kayak, paddle boards and their occupiers straight to Broad Haven beach, where RNLI lifeguards were waiting to carry out condition checks.

No medical assistance was required and the group was returned safely to the beach.
