What is being described as the biggest ever auction of licensed premises in the area is being held in Cardigan today (Friday).

Nine properties in south Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire will go under the hammer, with price guides totalling nearly £2 million.

The licensed property specialists Sidney Phillips is conducting the public auction at Cardigan’s Black Lion Hotel, which is just one of the watering holes up for sale with a price guide of £475,000.

Other properties include the Abergwaun Hotel in Fishguard, which is on the market for £140,000, and the Alma in Milford Haven, which is priced at £125,000.

A spokesman for the agents said: “There is significant interest in all the properties and some may be sold beforehand.

“The auction, which is the biggest of its kind in south Ceredigion, is expected to attract a large gathering and a warm welcome is extended to all.”

The auction starts at 2.30pm.
