A shout out for actors who can bring pictures to life is being made today (Sunday) by Tenby Museum and Art Gallery.

Collections manager Mark Lewis has written 11 performance pieces based on portraits in the gallery.

Now the search is on for performers – experienced or new – who would like to take part in an event showcasing these pieces, which is being organised by the Friends of Tenby Museum.

Mark has previously written dramatic pieces on Gwen John and Dylan Thomas, both of which have been performed at the museum.

This time, he has chosen works by Augustus John, Kyffin Williams, EJ Head and Gwen John as the inspiration for his creations.

The pieces will be directed by Gary Tapley and Teifion Powell.

Open auditions are being held at the museum this Sunday, October 4, between 1pm and 2pm.

There are parts for young, old, female and male.

Those auditioning will be given time to view a painting and read the words before offering an interpretation of the selected piece.

To book an audition slot, contact the museum on 01834 842 809.
