Ten small but perfectly formed plays took to the stage at Fishguard's Theatr Gwaun last weekend in the final of the annual Pint-Sized Plays competition.

Now in its eighth year the competition attracts ten minute scripts from all over the world. Winning plays are performed in pubs throughout Pembrokeshire in the run up to a Script Slam, where the audience votes for its favourite script.

The winner of this year's coveted pint pot was Attack of the Killer Banana Spider, by John Moorhouse; the half pint pots for second and third place were won by Elizabeth Anne Carroll's Art or is it? and Ruby by Neil Bebber.

Peter Richards, artistic director of Fluellen Theatre Company said the standard was particularly high this year. He presented the first prize for performance to Sarah Bishop and Ben Gabel in Guru, second prize went to Amanda Miles and Gary Crane in Ruby and third prize to Nick Wears and Adam Edgerley in The Emperor's New Clothes.

"It was absolutely brilliant," said organiser Derek Webb. "It was probably the most packed we've ever been, it was very well attended and great to have a full theatre for live theatre.

"A good time was had by all."
