The “astounding” artwork of Pembrokeshire’s creative secondary school students is on show for one final week at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery.

Pupils from Greenhill, Tenby; Milford Haven; Pembroke, Haverfordwest’s Sir Thomas Picton and Tasker Milward and Ysgol Bro Gwaun, Fishguard have worked in media including oils, acrylics, photography, paper sculpture, papier mache, textiles and video to stage the show.

Entitled The Hand, The Head, The Heart, the exhibition is sponsored by Valero.

The difficult task of judging the winners was carried out by Cate Thornton, representing Valero, and artist Olivia Argent.

“All of the work has excitement and value. The quality of the work in exhibition is amazing,” said Olivia.

The overall winner was George Parfitt of Pembroke School for his four homemade guitars and video of a bluegrass rendition on one of the guitars of the riff from Jimi Hendrix’s song Foxy Lady.

Students highly commended were: Alex Wright for FishFest (Sir Thomas Picton); Hari Truman for Self Portrait (Greenhill School); Ieuan Thomas for Together & Apart (Ysgol Bro Gwaun); Ian Bellingham for Business Lunch (Milford Haven School) and Yasemin Ozdemir for Siblings (Tasker Milward School). A cash prize was presented to each school.
