A CALL for help in obtaining office furniture for the local base of St John Ambulance has yielded an impressive donation of tables and chairs thanks to Valero Pembroke Refinery.

Valero Refinery Public Affairs Manager Stephen Thornton recently visited the St John Ambulance Operational Hub at Withybush to see the charity’s activities and see where Valero’s donation of four desks, four office chairs and 25 stackable chairs will be useful.

Speaking following his visit, Mr Thornton said: “St John Ambulance is an amazing charity which plays such an important part in our lives – from providing first aid cover at events to training people essential lifesaving skills and community first responders. When Valero was asked if we could assist St John’s Haverfordwest base by donating office furniture we were no longer in need of, we jumped at the chance to help a charity that we have long supported.”

St John Ambulance Commissioner for Dyfed Nigel Lewis said: “This donation of office furniture from Valero will really help us here in Haverfordwest. As a charity we are reliant on donations from the public, and we are delighted that Valero can continue their support of St John Ambulance’s work in such a practical way.”
