Abseiling the walls of Pembroke Castle is a daunting prospect for most people but for 29-year-old Narberth man Mim Morris the task is a double challenge.

A passenger in a horrific car accident 11 years ago, Mim was left in a coma for three months. The crash left him blind in his left eye and partially sighted in his right. He also lost his left leg above the knee. He suffered a brain injury and was left with epilepsy.

Despite this Mim focussed on recovery and living as full and independent a life as possible.

"After years of rehab I am coming to terms with my losses and trying to live a life that is as full as possible," he said.

"I am now in a position where I would like to assist charities that are helping people with similar problems to myself."

With this in mind Mim is abseiling down the main tower of Pembroke Castle on June 12. A regular at Tenby's Overhang Climbing Centre, Mim is raising funds for the Royal National Institute for the Blind and the Limbless association.

"Both of these charities are linked to my injuries and I would like to support both," said Mim.

Mim is close to reaching £500 in fundraising and would like to raise as much as possible. To sponsor him go to his Virgin Money Giving page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/SimMorris.
