CAR lovers revved into action for charity on Sunday, for this year’s Preseli Bluestone Run.

Almost 200 cars, vans and motorbikes set off on the 55-mile run from Gelliswick Bay in Milford Haven, which raises money for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

Waving the Pembrokeshire flag at the starting line was Mayor of Milford Haven Cllr William Elliott, who was joined by his consort, deputy mayor, Cllr Paul Harries (vice chairman of Pembrokeshire County Council) and his consort.

The event was founded and organised by Morris Minor and Rover enthusiasts Jeff and Sian Edwards, of Milford Haven and was first staged in 2011.

Planned as a ‘one-off’, it is now a regular feature on the county motoring calendar.

The route took in Haverfordwest, the Preseli Hills, and finished in Narberth, where the magnificent motorcade was met by Cllr Ruth Platt, Mayor of Narberth.

Jeff and Sian thanked the Western Telegraph, Pembrokeshire County Council, Milford Haven Town Council, Milford Haven Police Station, and Puma Energy for all their support, plus BHF volunteers, Stuart Mozz, their small and dedicated team and everyone who took part.

The pair’s next event will be the Western Telegraph County Run, supporting the Paul Sartori Foundation, on Sunday, September 4.
