Songs and speeches in the sunshine marked the retirement celebrations for Ysgol Glannau Gwaun's Timothy Owen on Monday.

Mr Owen is retiring this summer after 33 years of service to the school.

He has been with the school since it stood on the old Boys and Girls site in the centre of Fishguard and has served as class teacher, deputy headteacher and acting headteacher during this time.

On Monday Ysgol Glannau Gwaun held a celebratory afternoon on the school grounds. The school choir, who recently competed in the Urdd Eisteddfod, sang and Mr Owen made a speech thanking pupils and staff for making his time at the school so rewarding.

Mr Owen was presented with two framed prints, one from the Urdd to recognise his commitment to the organisation and the other from the school.
